Wanting to inspect how the newly founded social reform and government measures made during the pandemic caused by Covid – 19 effect the livelihood of the people, in 2021 Hera, Romalitico – Insititute for research and political analysis and Association Initiative for women’s rights from Suto Orizari carried out the research “Research for the utilization for the right to social and childcare “

The research includes 950 Roma women and men from 16 municipalities from the whole country, with this research we get an analysis about the utilization of the right to social and childcare by the Roma in the time period from 2019 to 2020, including all the phases – from unformatting the Roma community about their right to social and childcare to submitting document so that they can get that right.

Half of the findings conclude that 92% of the Roma included in this research didn’t submit a complaint after receiving a negative response while trying to obtain their social right, and that’s because they didn’t have all the needed documentation or because of the mistrust directed toward the institutions. On the other hand, because the employees didn’t include some of the needed information or because of the language barrier, 36% of the Roma included in the research didn’t know how the qualifications needed to get social or childcare.

The research doesn’t only obtain information for the situation on field, but it also gives advice and recommendations on law changes and also additions that can better the availability and utility of the rights from the vulnerable communities especially the Roma community.
