The main goal is to support the Government of North Macedonia with building and implementing integrated policies for gender-based violence (GBV) throughout the country, in accordance to the Istanbul convention.<br \/>\nAs a result of this project, a successful model of collaboration will be replicated with more stakeholders in establishing a shelter center in at least two other municipalities in the Republic of North Macedonia. Accordingly, collaborating with the partner organization Initiative for the Rights of women from Shuto Orizari, Skopje, UNFPA aims to strengthen local support services to victims and survivors of gender-based violence, effectively implementing and strengthening the provision of such services in the identified municipalities.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" 1414w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 212px) 100vw, 212px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Position: Assistant for the local community<br \/>\nLocation: Shuto Orizari, Skopje<br \/>\nDuration of the assignment: 6 months (from September 1, 2023 to February 29, 2024)<br \/>\nDescription of tasks: Under the direct supervision of the UNFPA program analyst and daily supervision of UNFPA&#8217;s partner organization, the UN Community Volunteer will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Attend training on the activities carried out by the partner organization of UNFPA in<br \/>\nthe chosen municipality with an emphasis on activities related to gender-based violence (GBV).<br \/>\n\u25cf Assists UNFPA partner organization in organizing local meetings<br \/>\ncommunity that would include municipal stakeholders, civil organizations, religious<br \/>\norganizations, health and educational institutions, the local business community and<br \/>\ncommunity members.<\/li>\n<li>Maintains meeting minutes regularly and assists UNFPA partner organization<br \/>\nto provide follow-up activities.<br \/>\n\u25cf Assists the partner organization of UNFPA in the implementation of the relevant<br \/>\nactivities that will lead to the licensing of services for victims and survivors of activities that will lead to the licensing of services for victims and survivors of<br \/>\ngender based violence.<br \/>\n\u25cf Conducts field visits and assists in establishing contacts with the community in order to<br \/>\nthe public is informed about the available services for victims and survivors of gender<br \/>\nbased violence (RBN) in order to reach as many women and girls as possible and<br \/>\ncommunity members.<\/li>\n<li>Records and reports on activities and best practices.<br \/>\n\u25cf Performs other related tasks as may be requested or assigned by<br \/>\nside of the supervisor.Criteria and required qualifications:<\/li>\n<li>Secondary education or equivalent,<br \/>\n\u25cf Demonstrated interest in community engagement, particularly women&#8217;s empowerment and empowering the youth<\/li>\n<li>Community development skills,<br \/>\n\u25cf Basic use of computer and office applications,<br \/>\n\u25cf Good communication skills,<br \/>\n\u25cf Volunteer experience, and community engagement experience is considered an advantage.<br \/>\n\u25cf Fluency in spoken and written Macedonian or Romani language is required.<br \/>\n\u25cf Working level of English is desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Work schedule and duration of engagement:<br \/>\nHalf-time work: The work schedule will be determined by the partner organization and<br \/>\nUNFPA<br \/>\nPlace where the engagement will take place:<br \/>\nThe offices of the Initiative for Women&#8217;s Rights from Shuto Orizari, Skopje<\/p>\n<p>Benefits:<br \/>\nMonthly allowance for volunteer life: 208 EUR in Denar equivalent<br \/>\nOne-time entry fee: $50<br \/>\nHealth insurance for the entire duration of the
