The main goal of the project “Prevention and protection from gender – based violence in North Macedonia “is to support the government in establishing and implementing integrated policies for gender – based violence everywhere in the country in accordance with the principles of the Istanbul Convention. One of the activities is to ensure access to shelter and psychosocial support for all victims and survivors of gender-based and family-based violence by replicating best practices of cooperation between shelters (managed by CSOs) and local government and the private sector. The project is implemented by the United Nations Population Fund supported by the British Embassy.
According to the purpose of the project and the need of the community for the prevention of family and gender-based violence, the first Center for psycho-social support for women-victims of family and gender-based violence is opened in the territory of Shuto Orizari: “ISI ARKA”.
For the needs of this Center, we need a work engagement for 1 (one) person in the following position:

Working hours: 4 (four) every working day.
Description of the engagement:
The social worker is responsible for the following tasks:
Conducts interviews at the reception of clients in order to collect basic demographic information, information about the problem, the factors that contributed to the problem, perception about the help that is required;
Opens and maintains a file for the beneficiary and other member(s) of the family/partnership and manages the case of the beneficiary who receives services at the Association Initiative for Women’s Rights from Shuto Orizari; while in accordance with the protocols it guarantees anonymity and confidentiality of all service seekers;
Initiates procedures and procedures related to the realization of the rights in the area of family and gender-based violence of clients from the Women’s Rights Initiative Association from Shuto Orizari;
Organizes field work and accompanies clients to institutions and organizations when it is necessary for clients;
Organizes field work and accompanies clients to institutions and organizations when it is necessary for clients;
Participates in the InterVision meetings with the other service providers from the Women’s Rights Initiative Association from Shuto Orizari;
Cooperates with civil society organizations and state institutions with which the Association Initiative for Women’s Rights from Shuto Orizari has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the referral of clients depending on the need in which Institutions are needed, but also with potential future collaborators from the civil and state sectors, according to needs to the users of the service;
In coordination with the project coordinator, participates in the preparation of narrative reports on the activities of the Association Initiative for Women’s Rights from Shuto Orizari and on the implementation of the organization’s project and strategic indicators;
participates in entering data into the database of the Association Initiative for Women’s Rights from Shuto Orizari and in making an analysis related to the services provided and the scope of clients in the service;
participates in the organization’s initiatives in the field of gender-based and domestic violence, upon assessment and in coordination with the supervisor and the program director;
Participates in trainings/seminars, educators and media campaigns in the field of gender-based and family violence;
Candidate(s) should meet the following conditions:
Completed higher education (social work and politics);
Professional experience in working with victims/survivors of gender-based and domestic violence will be considered an advantage;
Knowledge of laws, policies and programs related to gender-based and domestic violence;
Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office package;
Knowledge of the English language;
Excellent communication skills and assertive behavior;
Built teamwork and self-initiative skills;
Sensitization for work with marginalized and socially excluded groups of citizens.
An advantage will be considered:
Knowledge of the Romani language will be considered an advantage;
Work experience in the civil sector,
Many years of work experience in implementing programs related to gender-based and family violence,
Work experience in working with marginalized and socially excluded groups of citizens.
